Free laptops, desktops, and printers?! No way!
Yes way! Here's how:
TechLaunch2010!
Teaming for Technology's TechLaunch program gives qualified organizations new IBM equipment at no cost! Teaming for Technology (T4T) Colorado has given ~$75,000 worth of new hardware each year to Colorado 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations since 1999!
Organizations are chosen for the program based on their need and how they fit with certain criteria. Recipients could receive laptops, desktop computers, printers, servers, Young Explorers, or even vouchers for free T4T tech classes!
Looking for something to do tonight?
Tonight, July 6, BDNT is hosting "A Night of Participation".
It’s a simple way to get major karma points, so you can slack off for the rest of the summer.
The nights agenda:
We are lining up multiple NonProfits who will present New Tech style, but with a twist. Once all of the groups are finished on the podium, 2 minutes each instead of 5, then it's time to start generating those karma points by solving the NonProfits tech issues.
What to bring:
Your laptops, power chords and favorite IDE. New Tech will provide the beer, pizza and late night snacks.
What's new in 2010?
What's happening with CNTC?
Following a round of successful meetups last summer and fall, we've been focusing on our own organizations and gearing up for these exciting 2010 additions:
~ Bi-weekly roundup of interesting nonprofit/tech events in Colorado
~ Volunteer opportunity spotlight
~ Training opportunity spotlight
~ An email list, for discussion of technology issues with your Colorado NPO amigos
~ A fresh series of topical meetups
Look for them this summer!
Partnering Meeting with CNA/CANPO
CNTC organizers met April 21st, with Sara Raab from the Colorado Nonprofit Association, to discuss shared goals and ways we can support one another. Our goals are very much in line, and CNTC was received favorably, especially as a resource for presentation and training at the CNA fall nonprofit summit (October 29, 30 in Denver).
Partnering Meeting with CRC/NPower
CNTC organizers met with Ben Taylor and Brenda McCoy-Manfredo of CRC/NPower, to discuss shared goals and ways to help one another. This is a summary of our notes from that meeting...
CRC/NPower Goals
* Provide consulting, training, support and managed services for NPOs in Colorado
* Host annual Rural Philanthropy days, to connect orgs and resources in rural areas
* Refer most technical training to T4T, help with some high-level training there (e.g., tech planning)
* Step up marketing effort in 2009
CNTC Goals
Partnering Meeting with T4T
CNTC organizers met with Teaming for Technology on February 4th, to explore overlapping goals and ways we might support one another. This is a summary of the points from the meeting.
There's a great deal of overlap in the aims of T4T and CNTC. Both seek to promote wise use of technology by nonprofits in Colorado. Both groups can easily support each others' efforts via regular communication, sharing of training space and resources, and expanding training topics and staff...
CNTC Goals
* Support use and understanding of technology, by Colorado Nonprofits
